The Director’s College Module

Integrating ethics in the curriculum for upgrading the skills and context of Directors.

Business Problem:
Serve the learning and training needs of Directors as Boards strive to improve performance and address the more stringent governance expectations of regulators, investors, managers, employees, customers and stakeholders.

Objective:
To provide Directors with a high-level yet practical orientation to ethics, which will be of use throughout the curriculum and serve as a foundation for the Chartered Director designation.

Process:
  1. An environmental scan of trust and governance issues.
  2. Overview of best practices.
  3. Introduction of iterative principles.
  4. How to adopt and adapt.
CEO Input:
  • Designed the presentation and learning materials.
  • Created a framework for “Thin” versus “Thick” ethical governance.
  • Drafted the Director’s College Code of Conduct.
Outcome:
The Director’s College has graduated its first class of Chartered Directors. Attendance is growing, as are endorsements from companies, participants and the media.
